Congratulations to the winners of the Boston Moves for Health: School Challenge!

BPS and the Boston Public Health Commission are excited to announce the winners of the Boston Moves for Health: School PE Challenge! As a district we were able to contribute over 9,000 miles to the Mayor’s Boston Moves for Health Challenge. Good work to all who participated and congratulations to the following schools on their wins! –

 Elementary School:

First Place: Adams Elementary, awarded $750 for PE equipment

Second Place:  Perkins Elementary, awarded $500 for PE equipment

Third Place: Condon Elementary, awarded $250 for PE equipment

Middle School:

First Place: Harbor School, awarded $750 for PE equipment

Second Place:  Eliot K-8, awarded $500 for PE equipment

Third Place: Murphy K-8, awarded $ 250 for PE equipment

High School:

First Place: Burke High School, awarded $750 for PE equipment

Second Place: Excel High School, awarded $500  for PE equipment

Third Place: English High School. awarded $250 for PE equipment

 The Boston Moves for Health: School PA Challenge will kick off in January so stay tuned for another opportunity to contribute to Boston Moves for Health and compete for a chance to win $750 funding for physical activity equipment. Each school will be receiving a tool kit with all the materials to run this promotion the first full week in January. There will be pedometers and detailed instructions on how to get the promotion going. We are asking each school with Wellness Champions to participate in the contest. Stay tuned for more details. Tracking will begin January 22nd.
