Smart Education

Welcome! Implementing strategies to offer, promote, and educate about healthful food and beverage options can be an important challenge. To be successful, it is essential to garner support and involve school leaders, school staff, school administration, families, and students. Your hard work can really make a difference, and with guidance from this toolkit, you can help make the healthy choice the easy choice in your school.

Welcome to the Healthy Education section of the Smart Choices Toolkit! This section provides sample activities and evidence-based curriculum to be used both in the classroom and out of school time. This section will provide curriculum and other resources so that you can bring nutrition education messages into your lessons. The materials are aligned with both the Boston Public Schools Health Education Frameworks and the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for math, science, social studies, language arts, and health. The lessons emphasize literacy learning across the curriculum.
